Can anyone tell me if there are any Kirk session records for Beith available anywhere.
I'm still looking for any information that might tell me who the father of Archibald Harper or Mitchell might be. I know his mother was Flora Mitchell and from all accounts his birthday was the 22nd June 1845, born in Beith.
Flora married a William Harper in Kilmarnock in 1830 but by the 1841 census William was not around and Flora is using Mitchell for her surname. Also in the 1841 census is an Elizabeth Mitchell aged about 6 years, presumably Flora's daughter.
