For a horrible moment I thought you meant "naw, naw" to the deli - shock horror!
I think its essential - if we're locked in for a fortnight we'll need good food (and drinks!) to sustain us...!

best wishes

In terms of pure practicalities, NRH could, very sadly, burn to the ground tomorrow, with the destruction of all the records contained therein, but copies, via various recent routes such microfilms, microfiche, and digitised images, never mind the earlier method of a copy of the BMD registers sent back to the registration districts, would survive.

While it would be more than very sad to lose the original OPRs, there would be surviving microfilms, - two separate filmings.

I suspect that some original documents might be lost, such as the original marriage schedules, and the original Court of Session divorce notifications (but there could well be Court of Session duplicate records for these ?!), as these, and possibly some other records, may not yet have been microfilmed or duplicated elsewhere ..........

Best wishes

Along with all of the aforementioned giftie requests, how about one retroactive request:

Give all enumerators and registrars from all past days (and **all** of their assistants and superintendants) superior writing skills. (And hearing skills, and digging-out-those-reluctant-ones-on-census-night skills, and power-of-recovery-after-drinking-last-night skills  )

(I suppose we need this for the future days, too :?: )

All I want for Christmas is a Season Ticket on planes heading for Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. Free accomadation in a comfortable hotel would be appreciated too.

Everything listed so far would be grand. :D Perhaps a gift certificate to SP would be a cool thing to get.
