On TGV an hour and a bit.
We could maybe start a market stall, selling turnips and Vegitarian Haggis/Mealy Puddens. One week in Paris, the other in Brussels.

Though it might mean having less time to spare for Talking Scot!

How about a Haggis and Neeps Internet Cafe?

We could maybe import fish and chips from Annette R's chippie. The tourists would really go for that.

Could just be the education I got in Methil Primary School.

Then again, I might just be a little bit daft.

Whit can I dae aboot this continual dreepin.
frae ma nose awe the day even when I’m sleepin.
The doctor said he can dae nothing aboot it.
He says it’s no like something ye can take it out and shoot it.
I went tae the chemist tae pick up ma prescription.
An' afore I went in, I my hooter a good blow.
But as I bent o’or the counter tae sign ma prescription
Watter frae the well o’ ma nasal canal began tae.o flow.
The wee lassie was awfy guid an’ didnae make it an issue.
She just went roon’ the back an’ when she came back.
She gave me a big paper tissue.
In the post office oot o’ the rain.
An’ I noticed ma sleeve wis awe damp.
Wi’ wipin’ the dreep as I walked doon the street.
It’s handy for stickin’ the stamps

It’s no bad today noo I found a way.
A guid way tae kick it… I just lick it!!

good idea

strange thing in belgium , they are famous for their fish restaurants and they think they invented the chip but put the 2 together ?
i'm sure they'd soon forget the bitterballs and curry sausage if they could taste a fish sutter.

But I will not introduce any northern english delights like mushy peas .

Glasga' lullaby

Post by Alcluith » Wed Mar 30, 2005 10:08 pm

Hush wee babby for yir daddies comin in
Stumblin up the stairs and missin every yin
Rotten wae beer and stinkin o’ gin
He’s drunk again, as usual.

Oh my god, it’s a weary weary life
Who wid be a drinkin man’s wife
Who wid thole a this trouble and strife
Who but a silly woman.

Hush wee babby he’s comin in the door
Drunkin big feet skitin ower the floor.
He’s had a bucket but he’s thirstin’ for more
He disnae ken when he’s beaten.
Hush wee babby listen tae him sittin there
Wi his bloodshot eyes and tangled hair
Mooth full o big talk an’ eyes fu o’ despair
And blaming me as usual.

Hush wee babby yer daddies gone ta bed
The morn he’ll no remember a the things he said
But his tongue wis sharp and a’ the wounds they bled
But then a’m used tae bleedin

Hush wee babby close yer weary eyes
Cuddle inta mammy and stop yer tired crys
And in the morning when ye decide tae arise
Yer mammy will be here waitin.
