Dunblane-ten years on.....

Post by joette » Mon Mar 13, 2006 4:09 pm

I can hardly believe it is ten years since that most wickedest of times when sixteen children & their teacher were killed.
I knew of two children in Primary One & so felt a personal connection to what was happening. It was such a shocking, unbeliavable thing to happen to a quiet community in Scotland!
My heart & thoughts are with any friends or family who are living through this anniversary.
I wonder how it will be viewed in a hundred years time I would love it to be "Imaginesuch a disturbed person slipping through the net like that without notice"
"Guns?Weapons?What are those?"

I personally will never forget that day. Possibly the only day of news where I really can say where I was and what I was doing when I heard.

Ten years on, I cannot even begin to get my head round what Thomas Hamilton did . As for the families whose lives were torn apart by him, I can hardly imagine what they must have had to go through - if any of them are reading this, you have, for what its worth, my deepest sympathies. And a promise that what happened to your darlings will never be forgotten.

With love
