Radio Programme

Post by AnnieMack » Mon May 29, 2006 9:32 am

I found a really interesting radio programme on Radio Scotland broadband streaming on Friday night.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/noscript.sht ... urens8_thu

It tells of letters sent from Scotland to Saskatchewan to loved ones who had gone there to work and the letters were never delivered.

A very interesting show indeed, I thought I'd share it with you. I hope you can hear it.

Very moving, Annie. Thanks so much for posting the link! As my husband just said, there is nothing that can replace the actual voices of the people when you want to understand history and what their lives were like.

Annie, thank you for that link. I heard some of the programme when I was in the car but unfortunately wasn't able to listen to it all. It must have been dreadful not receiving the letters and wondering what had happened to the loved one so far away. I can now listen to the programme at my leisure.
