Ancestral Tourism Research

Post by laurasimpson » Fri Jun 30, 2006 12:25 pm

Hello all! I am a postgraduate student at Strathclyde University studying for my MSc in Tourism. As part of my course, I am carrying out research on Ancestral Tourism for my dissertation. One of the main ideas I am looking at is how this type of tourism can influence the formation of self-identity, and I also want to look at how significant a tourism market this is in Scotland.

If anybody is going to be travelling to Scotland on holiday or for a short trip in the month of July, and will be carrying out genealogy research or looking into their family history as part of their trip, I would be very interested in hearing from you to talk to you about your experiences of this type of tourism and also your motivations for visiting Scotland.

Please contact me by email - l.simpson@strath.ac.uk
Any help much appreciated!!
