Hi mcneill

You don't say what your operating system is but I have had success with similar malware with Microsoft's Windows Defender when AV, Spybot, Ad-Aware and other tools failed to find anything. You can download that from Microsoft for free.

I have found this website but I have never used it so can't vouch for it, so only use this if Windows Defender doesn't work.

Hope that helps

Hi maceill,

Try installing AVG Free on your own PC.

If that fails to install, run, find, remove and kill the malware, I can only advise reformatting your PC, reinstalling whatever Windows version it originally had and starting again.

I know it's a pain, but sometimes that is the only way of removing such "evils".

Can I hope that you have backed-up all of your files elsewhere? (i.e. on a disc or other PC?)

Here’s another way but I’ve no idea whether it will be any use at all.

Download the anti-malware programme from www.malwarebytes.org run the programme and it will identify ad remove all problems, its a great programme that is much better than most anti virus programmes for this type of attack
