Hi,
I found Talking Scot by reseaching my Gx3 grandfather James McIntosh who served in the East Lothian Cavalry (1794-1800). I found Scooter's posts dated 24/11/2009 on the East Lothian Cavalry, and obtained tremendous help from him and others when I did a post myself on 29/3/2010 ( "East Lothian Cavalry Again"). It even transpired that Scooter had a relative in the same unit.
Fast forward to John Mac (2/07/2011 East & West Lothian Cavalry ) and I've found another researcher with an ancester in the same unit!
Thanks to Talking Scot I have found two other cavalry men who served with my relative 200 years ago!!
I cannot thank you enough.

Great stuff Clanchattan,

As they say in the classics: "It's a small world after all." (or it used to be!)

All the best,
Alan
