Eileen Joyce Crosby MN

Post by carolinewhitehall » Mon Apr 21, 2025 12:09 am

The above person was born on 03 12 1915 and married John Wright on 04 08 1948 in Middlesbrough. (John was my uncle) Eileen passed away 08 03 19xx in Middlesbrough. Can anyone confirm if her mother was Alice Ord who married William George Crosby. Think the date of marriage is around 1915. I am trying to get back further on the family tree and unfortunately family members are unable to help. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a look on find my past and got a few records for her.
Birth:
Eileen J Crosby
Birth registration year 1915
Registration quarter 4
Mother's maiden name Ord
District Middlesbrough
County Yorkshire

1921 census:
105, Park Lane, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire (North Riding), England
William George Crosby Head Male 1891 29 Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England Ship Brokers Clerk J J Sutherlnd & Co Ltd
Alice Crosby Wife Female 1894 26 Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England Home Duties -
Eileen Joyce Crosby Daughter Female 1916 5 Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England - -
James William Lionel Crosby Son Male 1920 1 Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England

There does seem to be a marriage to a couple matching those names in 1915 in Middlesbourgh too.

The census information gives an approx. birth date and place for Wm & Alice so their births and mothers' maiden names should be easy to trace via FMP. I'd check census records too to confirm parents and any siblings names, and as they lived in England the 1939 register could help too.

Thank you so much for your help. I dad never talked much about his child hood as he lost both parents young. Eileen my Aunt and John my uncle never had children.
