sidney john matthews .....

is there anybody out there who can help i'm trying to trace my husbands family for him starting with his father sidney john matthews born on 23/12/1928 we think the year is right but maybe a year or 2 older,we think he was born in london but again not 100% we would like information on any family of sidneys like his parents,siblings,etc thanks linda

Hello Linda

If Sidney John Matthews was born 23/12/1928 - just before Christmas/New Year - then the chances are his birth wouldn't be registered until the beginning of the next year so would be indexed in the next quarter.

There's a likely entry:

1929 - March quarter - Matthews, Sidney J - mother's maiden name Smith - W Ham 4a 292

Is this him?

hi thanks for that info i never even thought about his birth being registered in march, so with the info you found it should be easy for my search now, again thanks

No not March, - the 3 month period ending March, which could mean as early as 1st January.

Hi Linda, my sister found your search query on a google search, please let me know if the surname is spelt correctly, Sidney John Mathews was born in Elephant and Castle, South London on the 10 May 1920.
