Some - all? - of the service records on ancestry are available free of charge on ancestry.com.au - 24-28 April - Tis our Anzac Day remembrance on April 25

In honour of ANZAC Day, we have made it even easier to discover the military heroes in your family. You can access more than 50 million military records from around the world for free.

*Terms and Conditions Apply:
Access to the convict [sic] (I think they mean military) records will be free from 11:59pm on 23rd April 2013 until 11:59pm on 28th April 2013 AEST. To view these records you will need to register for free with Ancestry.com.au with your name and email address. We will then send you a user name and password to access the records. After the free access period ends, you will only be able to view these records using an Ancestry.com.au paid membership.
