Windows Vista

Post by ASGROOMBRIDGE » Thu Apr 19, 2007 10:51 am

Has anyone had any problems printing out a genealogy file from Family Tree Maker, I have tried umpteen times and it just closes it down, got the old laptop out and no problems (windows xp). Is it just me or is this another quirk of Vista. :?:

Audrey,

Have you tried running it in compatability mode for XP?

Right-click the program Icon > Properties > Compatability Tab >Run this program in Compatability mode (Tick) and select Windows XP

Another thing to try is go to the developers website and see if they have a patch for Vista.

Hi Audrey,

I'm sure there is a FTM forum somewhere. It might be worth having a look for it as it's more than likely that other users have had, and maybe solved, this problem.

"oh well back to the old laptop, thank goodness I kept it"

- me too, me too -

After 7 weeks of torture (switching itself off, lines of various hues, days on the phone) I am now waiting for a replacement machine and have resurrected old faithful.

I didn't try printing down from FTM on the few occasions Vista was working so will look forward to hearing if there is a solution.
