National Library of Australia.
Access to free databases from home.
News arrived this morning from the Society of Australian Genealogists that the National Library of Australia has a huge list of 60 databases available to home users. They must be residents of Australia.
These include House of Commons Parliamentary Papers, 19th Century British Library Newspapers, the Times Digital Archive [1785-1985] and a ton of other stuff I’m not very familiar with.
It all seems too good to be true and I'll believe it when I get my library card and try it out.
Click on Licenced Resources, you'll see British Library Newspapers, for example, on Page 6. See the Get a Library Card link at top right. http://www.nla.gov.au/app/eresources/
Get yours,
Alan
