Hey all;

Can anyone tell me if the following address still exists?

54 (or 5A) Market Street, Brechin.

Thanks.

www.Multimap.com can't find a match 5A Market Street but gives a hit for 54 Market Street.

City Directories

Post by runepriest » Sun Oct 09, 2005 2:24 am

Thanks all for the information on the Market St. address. Now I am wondering if Scotland has anything like city directories? I am looking for any Lawson's that may have lived there over the years.

Thanks.

Have a Google. I know that were annual directories for Montrose, so wouldn't be at all surprised if there was similar for Brechin, and there are !!!

See http://www.angus.gov.uk/history/librari ... hinlib.htm

There were also national directories such a Slater's but it probably wouldn't have the level of detail of Brechin directory.

Must get down to Angus sometime whence came many of my children's forebears to check up on the directories.

Is anyone on this board from the Dun/Forfar/Brechin area?

If so, please email me, I would like to talk to you about research in this area.

Thanks.
