East Lothian Cavalry (Again!)

I was very interested to read the postings Re East Lothian Cavalry. Yesterday I came across marriage details regarding a Robert McAulay (McCalla), a soldier in the East Lothian Cavalry, to Helen Cunningham, in 1794, at the Gaelic Chapel in Glasgow (by Mr Angus MacIntosh).

I have found the births for two daughters, 1799 and 1804 (a 3rd child) in Glasgow and the death of a son in 1876 there, though the age doesn't correspond to his being born before 1815. Also, Robert is back in Glasgow in 1841 and 51.

Any update on where and what to look for next?

I'm new to this area of research so any advice would be appreciated.
