Hello to all the geneology detectives,

Wiuld just like to share my relative short journey through the geneology trail. In just over a year I have been successful in tracking down five brother who left Scotland from 1866-1873. I was initially trying to trace a 50th Wedding Anniversary picture, last seen in 1931. I sent an e-mail to the local county library but gave the wrong year. Two weeks laterI received a letter from someone asking if the names written in the letter were any ancestors, and indeed it was.The librarian overheard a conversation and heard the name mentioned and asked if he knew the name.He wrote to me and consequently sent me the picture.(unbelievable)I know.Turns out a lot of my ancestors were quite religious
priests, monks and nuns.I have tracked down name places in Ireland found in a repository for a benedictine monk through that US connection.
Have also tracked down family name to 10th century through this connection, turns out direct line to brother of Brian Borugh

Children: Ann b. 14 May 1815, David b. 24 March 1817, John abt 1821, Agnes b. 24 June 1822 and Adam b. 4 April 1824, etc.

Hi Boland

Janet McLaughlin was born in Antrim, Ireland and I've been unable to find her death cert. but according to her husband, John's death cert. he was a widower when he passed on 24 March 1877. All of John & Janet's children were born in Johnstone, Renfrew, Scotland.
