Hi Everyone,

It has been suggested to me to try looking for my Grandfather Andrew McGowan born 9.4.1884 in Kirkmuirhill Lesmahagow on emigration lists ,now I have checked out Ellis Island but dont know where to start really. He was not heard of after 1920 when he seperated from my Grandmother and was last heard of living at 11 Pretoria Street Cambuslang and his parents lived at 983 Tollcross Road Glasgow.
Has anyone any suggestions as to where I should start looking, as I dont know which country he went to I thought it would be better to start looking from Scotland. I paid for a death search last year and was told he did not die in Scotland and a few years ago we tried England to no avail.
I would be greatful for any suggestions.

Looking for McGowan Anderson Fleming Sommerville Waddell in Lanarkshire. Semple Murray Baird Thompson Hutchinson in Annan Dumfriesshire Baird and Hutchinson also in Kirkinner Wigtonshire and Semple family of Annan Glasgow and Edinburgh
