A list of web links for seafaring and emmigration/immigration can be found in the Talking Scot Library:

If you have any idea if they were merchant, navy or passenger ships or the time frame, you may be able to narrow down the search. Even knowing in what area the people you are following may help i.e. searching for people in America or France, or Australia ... etc.

A wee picture of Llandovery Castle at SCRAN - http://www.scran.ac.uk/database/record. ... chdb=scran

It was a hospital ship that was torpedoed by Germans. Lots of stuff in The Scotsman (and I'm sure many other newspapers). I have access through ProQuest with my library card and hopefully you will too.

A couple of wee snippets about the Otterburn explosion too. Here is one http://www.talkingscot.com/gallery/albu ... 58/out.pdf

Regards,
Annette
