Hi All,
On this page
http://www.workhouses.org.uk/index.html ... earn.shtml
it says the holdings for the Poorhouse are Minute Books (1901 - 26).
Does this mean that there are no applications made for the poorhouse in existence? Or would they be held somewhere else.
Karen

Hi Karen,
Alas, it seems there are no known surviving applications.
But perhaps contact Glasgow Archives & Paisley Library to confirm this.

Hi Jack,
Thanks for the info. Shall give it a try.
Funny you should answer this one as it about the fellow that started me off on this genealogy thing. You helped me locate him on the old SP discussion board a couple of years ago. (but you probably already know this).
I still live in hope that there may be some information out there somewhere about his father. I got very excited when I realised it was a poorhouse he died in (how sad is that?), but unfortunately it doesn't look like this is where the secret lies.

Hello Karen,
I'm not sure if I replied to any of your previous posts or not and perhaps it's a different person you are trying to find.
I did a search a while ago for a Joseph McCubbin Cunningham at The Mitchell and found nothing indexed.
You could try Paisley as Jack says.
Regards,
Annette M
PS The link in your post takes you to Strathearn poorhouse info.
