Dundee institutions

Post by Kathykins » Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:47 am

Hello again,

I've just found out that a relative of mine was quite involved in two institutions in Dundee and I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some more information?

My relative's name was Jessie Balfour, but she may have used her maiden name of McKenzie. She was matron of the Dundee Children's Shelter for a time, then moved to a school for the blind, also in Dundee, but I can't find any mention of these institutions in my history books. This would have been around the beginning of the 20th Century.

Is it ringing any bells?

Hi Kathy
Worth checking the web sites for Dundee City Achives and Dundee University Archives.

Best wishes
