Are these records held at the Aberdeen City Archives ? Ina's post has just sparked something that i had forgotton to look into.
Also reading one of the posts on Poor Law it said the final abolition of it was in 1948. It is Aberdeen that i am looking at so would it be best i contacted anefhs to find out when it stopped ?
Am i answering my own questions here

Unfortunately, very little for Aberdeen City survives when it comes to records of the poor. There are printed minutes and reports, which though they do list those receiving relief, the records are not only patchy date-wise, they don't give any other information such as the reasons behind the application.
Some records for Oldmill Poorhouse survive at the Northern Health Services Archives, but again, I don't think there are that many.
The Poor Law was abolished properly in 1948 with the introduction of the National Health Service.

As Archiver says scant records survive unfortunately, but the names of those receiving poor relief in some of the years where indexing survives (more so for Oldmacher, less for St Nicholas) can now be found online at silvercityvaults.com
