Hi Marilyn,

Great sites! I'm sure they've been mentioned on TS before but always worth a reminder. Many thanks.

Good Morning Marlyn:
My family of turners moved to Lochgelly in Fife from wales. I believe that they spent some time in a Poor house, How can I find any records with a list of names they may have been there after 1904. I know the father Richard Mark Turner was a coal miner.

Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for postings those links. I had looked at the one for workhouses earlier, but decided to have another look. I ended up at the Aberdeen City Archives page and got some good news--at least it was news to me--the burial registers held at their Town House office are unavailable because they are being digitized before being made available online at Deceased Online. This probably means spending more money, but with the large number of relatives that I have buried in Aberdeen, it will be great to be able to search for them myself!
