Hello all,
I have found a death registration for an ancestor, who died in 1927. According to my mum, this was the one who ended up in the asylum.
On his entry two addresses are given which I feel are the addresses of where he was institutionalised, so I wonder if anyone here can tell me what the names of the places were?
The first one is 659 Edgefauld Road Glasgow. The second is his usual residence address but it is listed as a lodging house at 34 Stirling Street, City, Glasgow.
The other two deaths on the page have the same first address, and the same informant as my ancestor.
Thanks for reading!
Nina

That would have been Barnhill poorhouse, in the Springburn area. The railway station still bears the name.
Barnhill Poorhouse later became Foresthall Home until demolished during the 1980's.

I drove past it recently, all brand new houses - but the stone wall still encloses it !
