Hi all,
I have a Patrick Logan born illegitimately on April (?) 1865 in Barnhill Poorhouse to Ann Logan, domestic servant. The registration is very hard to read. I have ordered a copy from SP.
I am trying to find more information about Ann Logan, as I think she is the sister of my ggg grandfather. My Logan gggg grandparents have a Patrick Logan living with them in the 1871 census. They call him son. They are living next door to a McClusky family, and the head is Patrick. Ann is not there and in fact I can't trace her at all. In the 1881 census Patrick is now Patrick McClusky, and is the Logan's grandson. I can't find a marriage for Logan/McClusky, so I looked for an illegitimate birth and got Patrick at IGI, mother Ann.
I am hoping that a record might confirm that Ann's parents are John Logan and Catherine Kemps or Camps. They were born in Ireland and were Catholics. I think they threw poor Ann out when they learned she was pregnant.
Anyway, I would really appreciate someone having a look for me!
Nina

I was too late at the Mitchell yesterday to get anything brought to be looked at (got heldup in the traffic trying to achieve to many things!) I am intending to go back next Saturday morning so if no one manages before then, I will see if I can find anything.

Nina, I was at the Mitchell today but unfortunately one of the members of staff took ill and they were unable to bring up anything from the archive - not having much luck for you I'm afraid

Nothing obvious for Ann but there is one for Catherine Logan/Campse born 1811 made in 1886.
There was no production at The Mitchell today so I couldn't view it. You'll just have to be patient a little bit longer.
Kind regards,
