Hi Miss Poohs,
While you're there, if you have the time, could you have a look for this one for me? I'd really like to know why she ended up in a poorhouse especially considering she had grown up children still living at the time.
Janet Drummond previously Robertson m.s. Lorimer entered Strathearn Combination Poorhouse in 20 October 1893 and died there in 1894.
She was "sponsored" by Madderty Parish, but the poorhouse records only have that incoming date note for her. I have her DC, which is how I found out where she died.
It seems that the details of her circumstances leading up to her going into the poorhouse should be in the Madderty Parish records, as they paid for her.

Mary, the poorhouse you refer to is here in Auchterarder. I thought the records were in Perth library. I am going away for the weekend but should be able to have a look next weekend if that is any good?

That would be wonderful if you could manage to have a wee look for me, Annie.
This woman has been a real mystery for me since I found out she was my GG Grandmother. The only information I've ever found about her has been from her daughters' (from first marriage) MC's and her own DC.
Neither of those two girls seem to have had their births, pre-1855 registered, nor can I find Janet's MC to my GG Grandfather John Robertson, or for her 2nd marriage to Daniel Drummond. She did have two sons by Daniel and I have one's BC and the other one's infant DC and Daniel's DC.
She's proving to be a real mystery.

I had a look today but no application was indexed for Elizabeth.
