Lennox Castle

Post by Elke » Thu Apr 26, 2007 7:00 pm

Hello!
I had a long posting about a mystery at Lennox Castle, already had received many answers - now I can't find this thread.

Is it me - am I silly or has it got lost?

Greetings from Germany

Hi Elke,

Hi Elke
I didn't see the follow ups to your post.... so I'm not sure if anyone directed you to ->this page<-
Apparently the maternity unit was opened in 1941 and supposed to have been temporary (it finally closed in 1964).
The events of 1956 make me wonder if this was ever a suitable location for a maternity unit!!

Apologies to the AG if this topic was meant to be closed.

Thank you Andrew, Jim, and Cathy!

Living in Germany which had this impermeable border in the middle of the country, constant talk about the KGB, and other Secret Services I feel put back in time. Who on earth could feel threatened by an old woman seeking peace of mind.

Still, I do thank you all very much for your efforts, it was nice meeting you.
I will come back to TalkingScot when my friend is with me who can read it out to me because as I said before I am nearly blind myself.

I do love Scotland ever since I loved a Scotsman, and lived there, and I do come on holidays as often as I can. It is a little difficult, one of my sons must have his holidays too as I am in a wheelchair having had a leg amputated some years ago and need a little help.

Thank you Jim for that link. I had actually seen the site before, but had lost the address. The entry for 1956 is very interesting isn't it? And you are right, the question is if it was a good idea to put a maternity ward there at all.

Cathy: I will be in touch definitely if and when I achieve any information.

Thanks once again to all who cared, and if you do hear anything regarding my query I have now put my e-mail address into my profile, then please write me a short mail.

Kindest regards across the sea
from Elke in Germany
