Information about the Edinburgh Industrial Brigade

In 1881 we think one of our family was placed in the Edinburgh Industrial Brigade.
He is on the 1881 census as an 'Inmate' in Registration district: St George
Civil parish: Edinburgh St Cuthberts



Does anybody have any information about the Industrial Brigade and particularly know where it was in Edinburgh?.


Any help would be appreciated
