Hello,
I was briefly at the Mitchell a couple of weeks ago (before catching a train to London) and had an interesting time looking through some of the poor house records, none of which were particularly pertinent to my family, but fascinating all the same. Anyway, in light of recent revelations about my GGGG Grandfather and his checkered past, I've had another look at my Mitchell notes and noticed that the one record that I should have looked at, is the one I didn't make time for.
So, I'm wondering if anyone is going the Mitchell way in the not too distant future, and has any time to spare, I'd be very grateful to know if the record for David Wishart (b. Anderston about 1798) contains any biographical details about his family etc.
Thanking you in advance,
Scott

Hello Scott,
Nothing in the application that you won't already know. Actually you'll know more than me because it was very difficult to read due to water damage and I wasn't sure of his mother's name.
David Wishart applied 3 April 1868 from 33 Bothwell Street.
Born Clyde street, Anderston.
Reason - Old Age, poverty.
Single aged 70
Parents - David Wishart and Helen ?Caverlock???
That was it I'm afraid.
regards,
Annette M

Hi Annette,
That's fantastic, thank you so much for taking the time to take a peek for me. Yes, David is the son of David Wishart & Helen Scadlock, I had all the info other than that he was born on Clyde Street. David died about a year after this application, and actually older than 70.
Thanks again,
Scott
