Lavvies where ye shared a key,
a daurk and dismal place,
We took it aw fur granted,
When it wiz a real disgrace.

Wan sink tae wash the dishes,
and wash yer legs and herr,
ye hid tae bile a kettle,
nae hoat watter , wiznae ferr.

yer bed wiz in an inshot.
A recess wiz better known,
wae curtains draped aroon it,
nae telly and nae phone.

A fire wae a blawer,
A bamboo capet beater
Nae hoover, ur hairdrier,
Nae fancy central heater.

Ah thote ad reminisce a bit,
And tell ye aw ma story,
Am sitting here aw cosy,
Oan am laptop in ma glory.....

nae bowling and nae KFC
and shoaps wae fancy names

nae trainies wae a logo..
It wiz hula hoops, skipping ropes

tae keep us fit and healthy,
noo weans wid frown at aw oor gemmes
noo think their maws are wealthy..

G Star this desingner that,
but weans dont hiv much fun.
A desk, a cherr, a baby doll,
And a big Roy Rogers gun.

Mibbe we were easy pleased,
wae Zorro, and wae Flash,
oor heroes , no the cleaning stuff,
before they invented Mash.

A winters night wae ludo,
A wee read at the Dandy,
yer mammy making tablet,
If yer lucky some puff candy..

The weans noo wid aw laugh at this,
And think we re only kiddin,
when we telt them that we played at shoaps
wae stuff raked oot the midden.

So many memories of raking the midgies for goodies for our shop or a decent can for "Kick the Can".
Our parents would be in jail nowadays if the weans now were allowed to do half the things we were.I always considered myself a well "cottered" wean & all. =D> Thanks.
