I have a silver medallion which belonged to a great uncle. Looks like the kind of thing which would have been worn on a watch chain.
Approximately 1" diameter, one side shows clasped hands as in a handshake underneath which is WELLS MOTTO.
Reverse side says awarded to A Johnston but cannot make out any date. The clasp is not fixed but can rotate round the circumference.
The recipient worked as a gardener, estate factor and farmer originally in Perthshire and latterly in Fife.
I have tried without success to insert a link to photo bucket so will have to make another attempt.
In the meantime does anyone have a suggestion as to what Wells Motto might signify ?
