Police Memorial Site.....

Post by caraid » Sun Mar 06, 2005 10:57 pm

Hi All
Came across this when looking for info on Police History, thought it might be of interest
http://www.policememorial.org.uk/Home.htm
Hope I've entered it correctly.
Anyone know of any good sites where I might research Railway History, especially the building of railways as I've a big family of stone masons- from 1860 - 1920 ish- who moved all over the country, Scotland, England, Wales & Ireland and they seemed to be working on the building of railways (methinks bridges).

For railway history, have a look at: http://www.railscot.co.uk/railways.htm for detailed descriptions of line and station opening and closing dates plus more.

All the best,

Thanks Andrew
Now I can try and put this large Drummond family of Stone Masons together as they all seemed to work on the railways at some point, and had spouses and children born all over the place.
