You summed up my feelings perfectly.

Sadness and tears mingled i'm afraid, absolutely brilliant that we made such a lot of headway but still so very sad at the same time.
We found the grave of the greatgrandparents with no trouble at all, thanks to Bernard and the boys at the cemetery, they were terrific. Delighted to find the grounds are beautifully kept as we thought it may have been pretty overgrown, sadly though no-one has ever put any kind of marker down for them, but we can put that right. As for the common ground, again a pleasant surprise, beautifully kept and even a small rose garden with a celtic cross in the centre has been put there by the diocese for people to have somewhere to pay their respects when they find someone has been buried there, and again Bernard was a wee gem, he prefers to call it communal ground as he hates the terms common or pauper, a lovely man.
We have also found out that another 2 have been buried with the ggrandparents, 1 of whom we can accept as it's yet another baby, but this time we believe it to be a grandson we knew nothing about, but there is also an older gentleman(82) and although the name is also either lithuanian or Polish we do not have a clue who he is, next stop death cert etc to see if we can work it out somehow.
On a lighter note we are now planning to visit Lithuania in the summer to visit the place they came from and we know that the gggrandparents died there so who knows
Will post again when we find out anything further
