Torphichen Preceptory sells a wee book about the churchyard burials - I bought it 'cause one of my rellies is buried there. I'll have a look - if I can find it again - and get back to you.

Thanks for the suggestion about Duncan McGowan - I had traced him previously - based on the same line of thought that you had - my Dennis was listed as Duncan on the 1851 census and his daughter used the name Duncan as a middle name for some of her kids.
