I want to try and locate where three (for now!) relatives are buried - how do I look and where? Is there a register in each area?
The three individuals are Richard Wood (died in Inveresk in 1900) Catherine Wood (died in Inveresk in 1892) and Catherine Johnston Stoddart (died in Cathcart, Glasgow in 1917)
I've had so much help from TalkingScot that I hope someone can help with this latest query!
Thanks Mo-anne
Where to look for burial info?

Hi Mo-anne,
Since 1975, Inveresk has been in East Lothian (previously was in Midlothian). The East Lothin Council website is not proving helpful to find details of where they hold cemetry records. It may be worth contacting their Archive Centre.

Hi Mo-Anne
If you can find out where the lairs are I will try to get a photograph next time I am over in Musselburgh (Inveresk is now the top end of Musselburgh).
The church is lovely. It has a tall spire and sits on top of a hill overlooking the town. The walled graveyard is very peaceful and beautifully maintained.
I'll make no rash promises for the near future since my granddaughters tend to have other interests to pursue.
