Pollocks/Pollicks/Livingstons

James Pollock (prev Pollick) married a Janet unknown last name in Eaglesham - late 1700s. They moved to Busby and then Cathcart and their descendants' tombstones in North America indicate they were from Paisley Renfrewshire Scotland. James fathered at least four children but of those known only Margaret who married John Livingston died in Scotland - all others known came to North America.

James died during the early 1840s and his wife before that. (suspect he married twice)

Could some one look up the tombstone inscriptions for Paisley or if they exist for the other towns mentioned to see if any record for James or his wife? Would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Have you checked out any of the records on the IGI (International Genealogical Index)? http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/ ... search.asp

There is a record there for the marriage of James Pollick and Janet Boll on 12 APR 1795 Eaglesham, Renfrew, Scotland. This information has been taken from original records.

By entering James Pollick in the father's name box and by entering Janet (no surname) in the mother's name box, you can do a parental search which will give you several Pollock/Pollick/Polluck families. Only one is listed as Paisley, Renfrew, but that family predates your Janet and James' marriage.
