Greenock Cemetery

Post by Kathy » Fri Mar 20, 2009 11:36 pm

If someone is in the Greenock area, and could find out who is buried in a Lair at the Greenock Cemetery, it would be much appreciated.

Or could phone the Crematorium office 01475715658, its a bit far from Australia

Samuel Craig 1886 - 21 July 1898 -- Lair # 431 section BB

The proprietor of the Lair is Samuel Craig.

Thank you

Kathy

Hi Ina,

Thank you for taking the time to list the Craig's, I do recognise a couple, the rest I will investigate.

I will make a note in my diary to PM you if I don't get the information before the end of April.

Thanks again

Hi Joette,

Ina,
Might I make a request too? It's for any Knaggs burials in Greenock cemetery - we know there was one family there. I think however there may be no MIs...
Also Mary Ann Anderson who may be there (she was married to George Knaggs, died before 1827 as that's when George married Janet McNabb)...

Hi Jenny,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but I had misplaced my CD.

There is only one Knaggs listed:

KNAGGS - John H. Knaggs died 21st Jan. 1943, wife May A Moss died 10th April 1951 3C587

There is a second CD but it's not available to purchase yet. I believe there is some sort of lawsuit going on over it. As soon as it becomes available I plan to purchase a copy. Your George may be on the 2nd CD.

Hope this helps

Ina

Thanks Ina. John is part of the same family, albeit a very recent member, relatively ( :) ) speaking.

Hi Ina,

Can you please take a peek form any of the following Graham family ?

Donald Graham b1858 - d
Flora Graham b1858 - d
Donald Graham b1886 - d1895 at Greenock
(Margaret)Maggie Graham b1882 - d1895 at Greenock
Marion b1889 - d

I'm thinking the 2 children are buried there in Greenock and it is just a long shot on the others.
When you have a minute can you please take a look ?

Thanks very much,

Heather
