Problems with Peterhead links

Post by speleobat2 » Wed Jun 16, 2010 11:18 pm

I just tried accessing the Peterhead links and both seem to be unavailable.

users.bigpond.net.au/phdgen/death.html. and the Kirkyard Lair records.

I tried to get to them through the happyhaggis website and that route didn't work either. Does anyone know if the Peterhead Death Indexes 1855-1870 are available anywhere else?

Hi Carol

Maybe phdgen no longer has an account with bigpond ...these things happen on the web frequently. That is a shame that the site is no longer available. It may just be a temporary hiccup, so maybe worth trying again in a week or so, but it may just be gone for good. :(

Best wishes
Lesley

Hello Carol,

Will the Internet Archive solve the problem?
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://use ... au/phdgen/

Hope that works,
Alan

Alan,

Yes, it did! The Peterhead site is in the web archive. I had previously printed out the death index for Milne, but that day my printer was running out of ink so the copy wasn't very good and I didn't get back to the site for a reprint until yesterday. Just printed out a clean copy and I have bookmarked the Internet Archive site.

Thanks!

Anyone interested in the Peterhead bmd's can now access them through http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Peterhead/

The gentleman who ran the bigpond website is putting all the info on there.
Searching for Barclay Aberdeenshire, Stewart Edinburgh, Brown Edinburgh & Uphall, Finlayson E Lothian, Fairley & Renton E & W Lothian for starters!

Hi Paula,

Thanks for posting that link. Always glad to see something come back online. Lots of little sites get lost when bigger sites roll over or shrug!

I was wondering why the site has been so busy this week.
