Hi Folks
Can anyone advise which cemeteries are in the area around Huntly - I have looked on ANEFHS MI site but Huntly itself is not listed. Any suggestions gratefully received. I am specifically looking for the death of John Gordon Bn 1789/90 - died either in Aberdeen City or Huntly between 1851 - 1855. There is another John Gordon death of roughly the same age in Huntly in 1858- but he is not the one I'm after.
Thanks lots
Ted

Hi Ted
I had a look for this before and didn't come up with anything very helpful. Just had another go and I'mstill not finding what you are looking for. Best I can do is this, which is a later period than your query I think. Huntly from 1879 is mentioned here:
http://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/registr ... erurie.asp
Maybe if you contacted them they might be able to help or lets hope that someone local to the area sees this and knows the answer!
best wishes
Lesley

hi TEd
I looked at MIS here, in the SGS shop, but not seeing Huntly mentioned - maybe one of the named areas might be relevant to you though, I'm not too familiar with the area.

However, I know they have a lot of unpublished MIs, so might be worth contacting them too:

Hi Ted
I know it's a while since your post but I had a wee rake myself and found 3 possibles.
1- John Gordon 19 Nov 1854-Clatt cemetery (just south of Huntly) stone #158
2-John Gordon 22 June 1853-Glenmuick cemetery (near Ballater) stone #66.
3-John Gordon 26 July 1852-Kinneddar cemetery (near Lossiemouth) stone #94.
These are all on the ANEFHS site.
Hope this helps.
