Rosebank Cemetery and Grange Cemetery.....

Post by Vscheipel » Fri May 12, 2006 1:16 am

Hi there!

Does anyone know where I could obtain or go about obtaining a listing of people buried in the following two cemeteries?

Rosebank Cemetery (Leith)
Grange Cemetery (Edinburgh)

Does such an item exist or am I being too optimistic?

Veronica

Hi Veronica
The best place to consult re. published and unpublished MIs is the Scottish Genlealogy Society www.scotsgenealogy.com

There is a short list from Rosebank here:
http://www.dwalker.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk ... metery.htm

MI lists generally concentrate on pre-1855 burials though , so if it was someone later than that, have a look here:
http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4555
and from that list maybe try:
City of Edinburgh Burial Grounds and Crematoria - 39 cemeteries/churchyards in the City and Mortonhall Crematorium. Contact information can be found here:
http://a2z.edinburgh.gov.uk/displayEntr ... tleID=4627
(site seems to be down at the moment)

I have my doubts that a complete listing of all burials would be available - you may need to visit or contact Morton Hall Crematoruim in Edinburgh to search for specific people.

Best wishes
Lesley
