Finding Grandmothers Grave

Post by saroho » Mon Oct 23, 2006 1:59 am

My grandmother died on the 15-6-1934 at Victoria Infirmary Scotland, her address before she died was 97 McClean street Govan Glasgow. Can someone please help me find where she would be buried and if there is a head stone. Her name is Euphemia Brown born 27 April 1911.

Hi Sandra,
I had this problem when I started out.
I think I went to "google" and got the addresses of local undertakers.
I wrote to several, and had a reply, then I wrote to Glasgow Crematoria Dept. They gave me plot number. There was no headstone, but I managed to get one put on the lair.
The address will be in "search", but I'm sure one of our readers will know it.

Hi Sandra

Sorry to divert from your question but you say........................
in australia all these records are online ya just type in name and the cemetery name and plot number comes up, but from what Ive read Scotland does not have this ......................

In our Australia forum, there is a link to this site
http://cemindex.arkangles.com/cemeteries.php

Is this the one you mean or is there another ? If not could you post the link to the site you mention.

Many thanks
