Cemeteries in Bo'ness

Post by Linda5 » Sun Nov 05, 2006 10:48 am

Hello

I'm looking for some help, please.

I'm trying to trace the graves of family in Bo'ness and read somewhere that because of redevelopment in the town some of the older graveyards will be dug up.

I have an old photo of my gggrandparents gravestone, (Jane McAlpin and Charles Cattanach),who died in 1884 and 1887. The gravestone is situated near the boundary of the graveyard, (I can see iron railings in the distance and, possibly, water beyond that).

As I live in England I won't be able to make the journey up there until next summer and I hope it won't be too late!

Any information would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Linda5

At some point, hopefully in the not too distant future, SAFHS will be publishing the results of their project to list the location (but not the MIs therein) of every burying place/cemetary in Scotland.

Have a check on the SAFHS site, - see the "Societies" tab above.

David

PS Later, - see "Bulletin" and "Graveyard Working Group".
