Hi all
Ok, I've tried it now.
It is possible to search the lists of names before paying to see if anyone looks likely, though, as usual with that area, if you are dealing with surname Ross, you will probably be none the wiser if
your particular one is there or not!
If you have several folk in the area the £2.50 will most likely be worth it. I have several families up that way (including Ross... of course!) and the £2.50 was made worth it on my first hit alone - a grave which I have actually searched for on foot and not found, such that I believed there perhaps was no stone - but hey, there is!!!
Transcriptions are given for each stone on the site (once you have paid!) with a indication of the condition and material of the stone. Many have photos of the stones too. Only critisisms would be that :
- a. although stones are numbered, no indication of their position in the churchyards are given and there are no maps of same ...yet, but it is in progress, so I hope that is in place soon: http://www.fearnpeninsulagraveyards.com/Maps.html
b. Although photos are provided of some graves, they are small and of quite low resolution
Otherwise, pretty good value and a
very useful addition if you have family in this area, especially as there had previously been no published books, printed lists or web sites where you could find MIs.
Best wishes
Lesley
