I have the booklet of monumental inscriptions but my Frews do not appear.
Does anyone have a burial index. I am particularly looking for Archibald Frew c1810 died between 1847 and 1851. Though interested in any Frews from that area.
Many thanks
Jeanie

Hi Jeanie
Not sure if a burial index has been produced for that area.
For Troon & Ayrshire FHS (http://www.troonayrshirefhs.org.uk/) publications See:
http://www.mcculloch.demon.co.uk/Troon/ ... ations.pdf
And it does not look as if there are deaths noted in the OPRs (from GROS) :
6121 ST QUIVOX*
6121/1 B 1735-1819 M 1735-1819 D -
6121/2 B 1819-54 M 1820-54 D -
6121/3 Separate index to B
* See Appendix 1 under reference CH2/319
The Kirk Session accounts held at Ayrshire Archives (digital copies at NAS), may hold info on mortcloth income, with names if you are lucky .....but just as easily might not...!

Have you had a look at Kenny Monaghans site?
http://www.monaghan95.freeserve.co.uk/index.htm
He doesn't have St Quivox but the lists of headstone photos for cemeteries in the Ayr area contain a few Frews.
Best wishes
