MUIR burial 1802

Good morning everyone this is my first posting on this site.. ..I have found in the Ayrshire Burial Index a burial of a Matthew MUIR 7th April 1802 in Mauchline....... Can SKS tell me if there would be any more information on this Matthew.... I believe he could be my Matthew who married Janet CAMPBELL in Mauchline in 1778.

I had a look on the BVRI for this couple and up pops this daughter. She looks like she is one of yours.

Gender: Female
Birth Date: 13 Aug 1784
Christening Date: 16 Aug 1784
Recorded in:Mauchline, Ayrshire, Scotland
Father: Matthew MUIR
Mother: Janet CAMPBELL
Source: FHL Film 1041395 Dates: 1731 - 1820

There is an LDS submission for a marriage for this pair 31 Dec 1778 Mauchline. Plus a birth about 1753 for Matthew but this is a submission also.

IGI also has some births:
Agnes Muir 15 Apr 1787 Mauchline (subm)
Matthew Muir 16 Sep 1781 Mauchline (subm)
Jean Muir 20 Dec 1779 Mauchline (subm)
But they are all submissions so caution is needed. At least someone else appears to be researching this lot, but I dont know if there is a contact there.

Hi Stewie,

Thanks for this.... the interesting thing is the Birth of Matthew in 1753... he is my Brick Wall... we were told that we go back in a long line of Matthew's till we get to Robert MUIR and Mary FAIRSERVICE.. but I cant find Matthew's (m.Janet CAMPBELL) birth.. Robert and Mary had 3 sons who could have been his Father is the information we have been given is correct....... Robert, Matthew and William.. the Matthew born to Robert and Mary from the IGI died in 1760 but that doesnt mean he didnt father a child before he died he was 25..
Will check the birth of the Matthew in 1753 it may lead to something.

This is the only birth I could find to parents Robert Muir and Mary Fairsevice on the BVRI

There is an LDS submission that he died 12 oct 1741.
There are a number of LDS Submissions for children of Robert and Mary, but only the one extract and that is John.

BVRI birth for Matthew C 26 Aug 1666 Muirkirk F Johne Fairservice M Issobell Miller although his mother is not actually listed only his father, it is from a parent search that Issobell appears.
Also James Fairservice C 10 Apr 1645 Kilmarock
Robert Fairservice C 16 may 1648 Kilmarnock

There is also an extract for Marry (sic) Boyd C 7 Jul 1667 parents John Boyd Margert Galt
Plus a sister Helen Boyd B 5 Jan 1660 Kilmarnock Parents Jon Boyd and Margrit Galt
