Could someone please help me and tell me where the following are buried

Elizabeth Barclay (Johnstone) b.1840s d.31/10/1925 180 merry st Motherwell

Frank's mum was Esther or Jessie Barclay who is buried in Wellwynd in Airdrie in 1858 has this been built over ?

I have tried contacting N.Lanarkshire council but no reply as yet.

Hello Barkie,
I was early for an appointment today, so having parked in the former Wellwynd Church car park, I took a walk through what remains of the Wellwynd Cemetary. The stones are very old and mostly unreadable - I don't recall seeing the name of Barclay but there are a few stones with initials only inscribed on them.
One of the stones was fascinating in that it was erected in the early 1800's and the inscription had been carved exactly like the neatest handwriting of the day. When you think that this was all done by hand too. I wonder how much it would have cost at the time - it must have taken many many hours of precision work to complete.
Next time I go, I'll take some photos and post them in the gallery.

Hi,
Thanks for all your info, I have already ordered the book with Airdrie MI. I am glad that some of the graveyard is still there. I believe they did not exhume the bodies and just built the car park on top of them, is this true ?
Anyway next time i'm back up in Scotland i will have a look and then take a trip to Kirk o Shotts where i know some more relatives are buried.
Is there a book which kirk o shotts MI's, I know there is website which shows some burials from late 1800's but i am looking for earlier burials.
