Missing marriage index

I was over the moon to find a 1855 marriage, indexed at Find My Past, between Edward Farrell and Margaret Donnegan(and varients) at Edinburgh. When I go to view it at SP there is no such marriage indexed there. It would have been a Catholic marriage but no sign of it under the Catholic registers either.

What am I doing wrong?

I had a look at Ancestry myself.

I'm not sure that it is the record of a marriage as such:

Who is Patrick? her father maybe? or is it a birth of a son Patrick and father has given the marriage date of 1855 in 'error'
or as is more likely - the source is Family Search it's a 'Submitted' entry and therefore inaccurate at best or a guess.

I hopped over to family Search and found this:

So my first guess of Patrick being father was right.

I'm not very good at this version of Family Search [ I loved the old IGI ] so, any experts work out where this info came from?

The Family search information claims to be from an extracted record which were previously slightly more trustworthy than submitted records (my own opinion).
The url given for the link is https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYM4-9TT but this just leads you around in circles without a visit to one of the LDS Centres to view the actual image.

Is there any confirmation of the marriage date through any of the childrens birth records ?

There is a Patrick Farrell marrying a Margaret Donigan 1855 Calton and Bonnington , Edinburgh City on ScotlandsPeople- could this be a possible but mis-indexed?

Thanks all.

I took a punt on the marriage of Patrick and Margaret 20th August 1855 then checked the birth of one of the children and it is them right enough. He is called Edward on all census records but it says Patrick in the groom's column. Father's name is given as Edward.

I eventually found them in 1861 where Edward says he was born at Mohill, Ireland but that's not what he says on the marriage entry although Leitrim is given as the county. Ages are all over the place through the years too. They don't make it easy.
