Just found this post and interested in the Crathie & Braemar area.
Names looking for are Farquhar & Grant.
My husbands 2 x gr grandfather James Farqhuar married an Anne Grant from the area, they had a son Alexander Grant Farquhar, found hime Age 5 in 1871 census living with his grandmother Rebecca Grant. Found no trace of him from then onwards. Would love to know what happened to him.
The parents separated around this time and James subsequently married again in Edinburgh, was charged with bigamy then married same person (my hubbies 2 x gr grandmother) again after his release. The family didn't know any of this until I started my research
Regards
Bertha
