Yes, now I remember seeing that the Hamilton Currie from Eaglesham married an Isabella - not a Sarah. So it's possible the other Hamilton you mentioned could be a lead. I will try to check the baptism records as you suggested, though.... I'm not yet that great at navigating my way around the "Scotland's People" site!

Have you gone further back from John and Elizabeth? I'm descended from their daughter Katherine born 1804 who married John Watson in 1826.

Sorry - don't think so. Their son Hamilton married an Isabella, but my great great grandfather Hamilton Currie married a Sarah. But as I mentioned, I did see and photograph the grave of John Currie and Elizabeth Fulton in Eaglesham, back when I though they might be Hamilton's parents....

I'm the one with John & Elizabeth in the outer reaches of my tree. Their son Robert (b. 1806) married my ggg aunt Agnes Ross. Consequently, I haven't looked any further back than John & Elizabeth. If you want to know exactly what I've got on the family then do pm me.
