If in doubt go9 back to the source material - so I did. Looked through the OPR page by page at the Mitchell and found the following :
Kilfinichan & Kilvicheon, 1837
March 28th
Duncan McLean, Crofter, Shiaba and Catherine MCDONALD, had their lawful daughter Baptised and named - no name appears. There are no further entries for Duncan McLean in the OPR. Could this last entry be Hannah and the mother's name an error by the Session Clerk or the Minister? I feel as if I am clutching at straws or air. with what after all is only 3 generations back. Again, any suggestions would be welcome
