While on the vegetarian topic -

My fav. is a meely [ white] pudding supper. Next to impossible to find in Glasgow so dad and I always treated ourselves when ever we were in the East Coast.

Don't think so. I'm pretty sure it's got suet or some other animal fat in it which is a shame for veggies as mealy puddins are something else, like Dave's poems.

It's made of oatmeal and onions [ and goodness knows what else

] but it's likely got animal fats in it, so a veggy dish it probably ain't.

I luv Veggie haggis . A weird thing about being a veggie scot abroad. People over here who know whats in haggis make jokes about it. Patriot that I am , I defend it to the hilt. I assure them that was I not veggie I would dine on haggis dawn till dusk. And I just about mean it. And as for neeps - well that is just animal fodder here. But I luve turnips - my mother smuggles them through customs for me , along with the Irn Bru and the Tetley ( not scottish I know) and the Scots Cheddar ...

Well I'm rambling now, all that whisky's gone to my head.

Guess what I brought back from my last trip to Scotland? A turnip. Delicious. Can't understand why people over hear won't eat it.
